  5. Streetcar Named Desire, The Chalk Garden); in New York City.
  6. In her beguiling 1983 memoir, A Private View, she described her
  7. life as the cosseted daughter of movie mogul Louis B. Mayer and
  8. as the wife of producer David O. Selznick. "I see now," she
  9. wrote, "that I've had three lives -- one as the daughter of my
  10. father, another as the wife of my husband. The theatre
  11. furnished me with a third act."
